UHVDC in World

Here is a list of Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) Interconnectors from across the world i.e. running at +/-800kV. If there is any UHVDC interconnector missing from this, please write to me at webmaster@refabrica.com

India

  1. North East-Agra UHVDC Interconnector – a 1,728km, +/- 800kV and 8,000MW Interconnector which is expected to be operational by 2015. Technology by ABB & BHEL

China

  1. Xiangjiaba-Shanghai UHVDC Interconnector – a 2,071km, +/-800kV and 6,400MW Interconnector for which the first pole was operational in 2010. It is the World’s longest interconnector. Technology by ABB & Siemens.
  2. Yunnan-Guangdong UHVDC Interconnector – a +/-800kV and 5,000W Interconnector. Technology by Siemens.
  3. Jinping-Sunan UHVDC Interconnector – a 2,090km, +/-800kV and 7,200MW Interconnector for which ABB has been awarded the contract by State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). Expected to be ready by 2013.
